Grade 3 Narrative Writing Prompts

It was a dark and stormy night. Timmy was home alone, and he was really scared. He heard strange noises coming from outside, and he was sure that there were monsters lurking in the shadows. He decided to write a story about his adventures fighting these monsters.

One day when I was walking to school, I found a wallet on the ground. I picked it up and started to open it when I saw someone running towards me. They must have dropped it! I tried to give it back to them, but they just kept running. So, I took it home with me and went through the contents. There was a lot of money in there! I knew I should have turned it in to the lost and found, but I just couldn't resist keeping it for myself. What should I do?

It was a hot, sunny day. I was out in the backyard, playing with my dog, when I saw a snake. I had never seen a real snake before. I was scared. I ran into the house to tell my mom. She came outside and killed the snake. I was so relieved.

One day when I was walking to school, I found a fifty dollar bill on the ground.
